The 2005 Red Bull Tow-At marked the first professional surfing tow-at in history, and set the tone for an exciting second event in 2006 that was won by Australian aeirial wizard and ASP World Tour veteran Josh Kerr. The 2007 Red Bull Tow-At was the closest finish in the event's history with Melbourne Beach, Florida's Alek Parker defeating Hawaii's Clay Marzo and California's Dane Reynolds in the final.

The 2008 Red Bull Tow-At is scheduled to occur on Saturday, January 5, 2008. Among the surfers looking to participate in the tournament are Alex Gray, Cal., Nate Yeomans, Cal., Jason “RatBoy” Collins, Cal., Dylan Graves, Puerto Rico, Kai Barger, Hawaii, Eric Geiselman, Fla., Shea Lopez, Fla., Cory Lopez, Fla., Alek Parker, Fla. , Raven Lundy, Va.
